The brief
A sanctuary with hard surfaces and a high ceiling, where the spoken word had never carried to the back and music and speech needed the same system to serve both.
What we installed
- Coverage modelled against the room before any loudspeaker was selected
- Acoustic treatment at the reflection points causing the intelligibility loss
- Loudspeakers chosen for a room that carries both music and voice
- Wireless microphones with frequencies assigned against the local RF environment
- A mixing position a volunteer can operate, with presets for the regular services
- An assistive listening system for ADA compliance

How it works now
Speech is intelligible in the back row without the front rows being loud, and the system is run each week by volunteers rather than by a technician.
